Use ClipClip To Copy “Multiple” Texts, Images or Files To Your Clipboard

As a blogger, I am often performing repetitive Windows clipboard “copy/paste” operations of texts, image, and files. Windows 10 recently added a clipboard history saving feature that is helpful; but, is very limited in capacity and what it can do. This is where “ClipClip” filled the void.

ClipClip Main Interface

ClipClip is a productivity tool which expands the functionality of your clipboard. Instead of having a single item in your clipboard, you can have hundreds. This means you no longer have to switch between windows when copying and pasting several items. You can also search through your clipboard history to find something you copied recently or up to several months ago, depending on your privacy settings. Saved Clips are stored as normal files (txt, html, jpeg, etc) on your hard drive so you may use your favorite cloud service (e.g. Dropbox, Google Drive or even SVN) to share Saved Clips with your team.

Geek Squeak #17-026: A Smart Clipboard For Your Android Phone

I have a LG phone and it has its’ own built in clipboard manager to store anything I copy and paste; however, it is not the best and I often forget about it due that it is hard to find.  It also does not have many features.

Well this all changed for me when I found Clipo: Smart Clipboard Manager. In a nutshell, with Clipo you will get a floating bubble after you copy text, etc… to the clipboard that gives you a multitude of options to take what you copied and perform a multitude of tasks (see features below).  One thing to point out, I mentioned that Clipo has a floating bubble.  This feature will need to be turned on in Clipo’s setting. If you don’t like the floating bubble, then simply go to the Clipo app to select what you want to do with what you clipped (or copied).  Clipo, itself is a clipboard manager that stores everything you copy…

Geek Squeaks #2015-12 @ What’s On My PC (Featuring: Apparently We Can Re-Install Windows 10 Without A Product Key — and MORE)

Very IMPORTANT Information About The Windows 10 Product Key – Recently I posted information about using third party software to find your Windows 10 product key in the event you would need to reinstall Windows 10.  Well, now I am finding, based on other information, the product key may not be required at all.  Actually, I am pretty confused at this point and don’t have a test environment to play this out (read more below).

Windows 10 Product Key

PCWorld posted an article “Why you can’t find your product key after upgrading to Windows 10” that goes on to tell you that using these party utilities to find the product key will not work; that these utilities only generate or find generic product keys; and that Microsoft has moved away from the product key model and now uses what is called “digital entitlement”. According to PCWorld,

“Once activated, a digital entitlement for your PC’s hardware is created in the Windows 10 activation service. This entitlement can be used by the same PC again for re-activation of the same Edition of Windows 10 in the future.”

Apparently we can re-install Windows 10 on our upgraded PC’s and not worry about product keys. One thing I did notice in the article is that digital entitlement is dependent on your hardware configuration at the time you upgraded to Windows 10. Make significant changes from that original hardware configuration (such as installing a new motherboard) and you will be calling Microsoft for re-activation.

(Android) Microsoft OneNote Update Includes  “Floatie” – Straight from the Microsoft-News.com site:  “Microsoft has recently released a new update for the official OneNote app for Android. The latest update packs a pretty handy feature — the feature, dubbed as “Floatie” is kind of like Facebook Messenger’s chat heads for notes. The feature allows users to pin their notes, which are accessible pretty easily — clicking on the floating OneDrive icon would let them edit notes, and use most of the features of OneDrive without even opening the app” …

If you are a blogger, editor, or graphic designer a clipboard manager is a must-have tool. I have added Clipboard Master to the Download page under the FREE SOFTWARE swarm…

Free Windows Clipboard Manager Software With Multilingual Support

When you cut and copy text or images on your PC, that data is temporarily stored on the clipboard. Typically each instance when you perform the cut and copy operation, the data that was previously on the clipboard is wiped out. To keep this from occurring you need to get your hands on a clipboard manager where any cut and copy operations that you perform, the data is stored and can be retrieved at a later time.  I often use a clipboard manager when working on the blog and other projects.

I have featured clipboard managers on the blog in the past; but, today I want to share a NEW one called Multi Clipboard Recorder. Where this one differs from the others is that it is very easy to use and understand (and is portable). Simply start it up and copy away!

To view what you are storing on the Multi Clipboard Recorder, click the button, as shown in the screenshot. On the left side of the window you can individually select what data items you want to use to paste into whatever it is you are working on. A green check will appear for the item that you select.

Multi Clipboard Recorder

To use Multi Clipboard Manager on your flash drive, it appears you have to install it to your PC, then copy the folder over to the flash drive.

Key Features:

  • Records clipboard data and restore it.
  • Support all programs.
  • Support all data formats.
  • Multilingual support.
  • Display the contents of the clipboard.
  • Duplication of data input fast.
  • Portable freeware tool.

A Free Clipboard Manager That Saves Every Text and Image You Copy to the Clipboard

Typically when you cut or copy text (or an image), it is saved transparently to the Windows clipboard. The problem with this operation is that if you perform a cut or copy operation multiple times, the previous instance of what you cut or copied is wiped from the clipboard.

Free Clipboard ManagerA solution to this problem is to use a clipboard manager that allows you to save multiple instances of a cut/copy operation. Today I want to lead you to really neat clipboard manager, that is relatively new, that is portable and will allow you to copy and store multiple instances of text and images.  It is called Free Clipboard Manager

Free Clipboard Manager

Free Clipboard Manager

Free Clipboard Manager

Free Clipboard Manager saves every text and image that is copied in the clipboard! This is useful if you have to take a lot of screenshots or if you need to access to multiple notes of part of code without the need to paste them in a text editor. Simply hit CTRL-C or PRINT SCREEN to save automatically the clipboard content to hdd! To copy them back to clipboard, select the item, right click with the mouse and select “copy item to clipboard”. The saved content can also be accessed with explorer. Everything is saved in the directory “clipboard”. The software also has an option to prevent user/password to be saved to hdd. Selecting the option “don’t save text with less than 20 chars”, user and password with less than 20 chars, are only copied to clipboard.

FREE Software to Enlarge The Capacity of the Windows Clipboard

The Windows clipboard is that hidden data storage area that is used to temporarily store data that gives you the ability to cut, copy and paste between applications. The Windows clipboard is limited in that it is a one time cut/copy and paste operation that does not allow for or save multiple instances of the same. To resolve this limitation there are third party software solutions that will allow you to store more than one instance of a cut/copy and paste operation.  One such (FREE) application is called PasteCopy.Net . I have featured this app on here before and it is definitely worth a repeat, due that it continues to get better.

PasteCopy.Net is a portable clipboard manager that enhances and (in essence) enlarges the capacity of the Windows Clipboard operations by supporting multiple cut/copy and paste operations. This app will handle multiple cut/copy and paste operations of graphic and/or text and is very useful; especially if you are a blogger or someone that performs a great deal of editing (e.g. html editor, graphic editor, author).  The cool factor about this clipboard manager is that you can arrange the items that you accumulate into categories which makes locating clips a snap.

PasteCopy.NET does not require any installation, and does not leave a trace on the computer; however, the app is dependent on .NET 2.0 or higher (which is a component that is commonly installed on today’s PCs).

Supported Operating Systems: Windows 98/ME/2000 SP3/Server 2003/XP SP2/Vista/Windows 7 – Requirements .NET 2.0 or higher

PasteCopy.Net

Features:

  • Portable freeware tool, only (605KB)
  • Multilingual support
  • Auto- Copy & Paste Windows Clipboard
  • Convert rtf to txt (-automatically)
  • Convert html to rtf or txt (-automatically)
  • (Auto-) resizable/hide preview
  • Mouse-hover/keystroke preview
  • Clipboard-content preview in SystemTray
  • Export and print function

A NEW and TASTY Sticky Notes Program

I have always had a fascination for sticky note type programs and have tried them all. Today I experienced a new one, called OrangeNote that takes the sticky note concept to a whole different level.

image

OrangeNote is a sticky note program and clipboard manager (text storage bin) wrapped up in one. You can use it like any other sticky note program to keep to do lists, reminders, etc…; BUT, the real power of OrangeNote lies in its’ ability to capture (and store) any text that you copy to the Window clipboard.  The text data you copy is stored in the OrangeNote database where it is indexed. Indexing the data means the data can be instantly retrieved using OrangeNote’s search feature.

image

There is a learning curve to using OrangeNote, but once you get the hang of it I think you will find it visually appealing and very useful. Some things I experienced were:

  • You can add a title to your notes
  • You can create a “hotkey” for individual notes
  • You can pin a note to the desktop that will act just like any other window
  • You can change the color of the notes, adjust the font size and the color of the font.
  • You can bring up the notes manager and search box by hitting “ctrl – space” on your keyboard or by performing a right mouse click on the OrangeNote icon in the system tray.

There is also a pro version that allows you to sync notes remotely across multiple copies of the program, but the free version is fully functional for local use.  OrangeNote appears to be in early development and appears that the developer is open to suggestions to make OrangeNote better.
